9. CLEAN UP <br />9-1. The GC shall keep the premises free of excess debris <br />during construction and upon completion, shall remove all <br />debris and excess materials. <br />9-2 Upon completion, the GC shall clean all glass, <br />lighting fixtures, equipment, etc. and leave the house <br />ready for occupancy. <br />10. CODES AND ORDINANCES <br />10-1. The GC shall see that all work complies with applic- <br />able health and building codes and ordinances. <br />11. ALLOWANCES <br />11-1. Allowances for the cost of certain items to be <br />selected by the Owner are included in these specs. Should <br />the cost of any item differ from its allowed amount, the <br />net cost to the Owner shall be adjusted. <br />12. CHANGES <br />12-1. The GC shall be responsi')le for the proper process- <br />ing of orders for changes. No zhanges shall be made with- <br />out written authorization from she Owner. <br />13. TREE REMOVAL AND SITE PROTECTION <br />13-1. The GC shall remove trees within 10 ft. of founda- <br />tion and in driveway. Cut inti 24" lengths all logs 4" in <br />diameter or larger and stockpile on site. Haul away all <br />brush. <br />13-2. The GC shall protect all remaining trees from <br />construction activity. <br />13-3. The Owner shall have the brush cleared and hauled <br />away from the house site, the drainfield site and the <br />driveway to Ferndale Road. <br />14. EXCAVATING AND GRADING <br />14-1. Remove and haul away all stumps. <br />14-2. Remove and st—yvile topsoil for finish grading. <br />14-3. Excavate and trench to depths required for founda- <br />tion. Excess dirt is to be hauled away. <br />14-4. Backfill after foundation is complete and GC has <br />adequately braced the walls. Note: Backfill under patio and <br />garage apron with granular materials. <br />14-5. Rough -grade disturbed areas to assure adequate <br />drainage. Grade undisturbed areas to blend contours. Cost <br />of additional till, if required, sheil be paid by Owner. <br />14-6. Spread stockiiied topsoil and finish grade to within <br />approximately 2" of final grade. If additional topsoil is <br />required, it shall be provided by the Owner. Finish <br />grading shall not be done until immediately before sodding. <br />14-7. The Ownei shall assume responsibility for the repair <br />of erosion after grading. <br />14-8. Provide pit -run gravel fill fer inside foundation <br />walls and under all concrete slabs. <br />14-9. Provide minimum 36" diameter by 6 ft. depth sump <br />fillea with 1-1/2" clear rock under each of 3 floor drains <br />in garage. <br />
