Mabusth, Zoning Administrator
Date: August 6, 1986
Subject: t841 Craig winters, 888 Plentywood Road
a) Approval of Road Name; b) Final Subdivision/PRD - Resolution
List of Exhibits
Exhibit
A
- MCWD Permit
Exhibit
B
- DNR Permit
Exhibit
C
- Letter From
Applicant's
Attorney
6/28/85
Exhibit
D
- Letter From
Applicant's
Attorney
5/5/86
Exhibit
E
- Letter From
Applicant's
Attorney
8/1/86
Exhibit
F
- Huntington Farm Plat
a) The applicant has asked that the road name reflect the plat name -
Huntington Farm Road. Staff notes Huntington Point East and West
roads in Minnetonka Beach and Huntington Drive in Minnetonka. The
Chief advises that the use of Huntington or Farm in a road name will
create problems for emergency vehicles in locating properties and
possible problems for postal deliveries. The applicant still asks
that you consider the original request because of its relationship to
plat name. Applicant would suggest that there are several recently
named private roads in the area that would pose similar problems.
Applicant will prepare other road name choices for Council's review at
the August llth meeting.
Applicant will install his own road signs subject to the guidelines
and standards of the Public Works Department. A stop sign will be
required by the City. Applicant must submit payment of $75.00 for the
stop sign.
b) The Huntington Farm Plat (formerly referred to as the Plentywood
Plat) was originally granted preliminary approval on August 27, 1984.
Through no fault of applicant, the review of the preliminary plat by
the DNR and MCWD was delayed for over a year.
The main concern for the DNR was the issue of wheither the private
drive (Outlot C) intersected one wetland area or divided two separate
wetlands. The MCWD was involved in the Painters Creek project,
reference to in letter from applicant's attorney of 6/28/85. The
project did indeed have major effects on the designated wetlands
within the plat. The retention areas are one third the size when
compared to original retention lands. Both agencies have approved
permits for the plat and road plans (Review Exhibits A and B).
