Page Three
Mayor Butler
August 11, 1986
Today Jeanne Masbusth said that plans are in the works to
condemn the property. She was sympathetic yet unable to give
specific information as this falls under the duties of the
Building Inspector. Again, we can see nothing has improved
across the street.
We've spoken with city officials in the Zoning Department,
Building Inspector's and Assessor's offices and you, too,
Mayor Butler -- in fact, you more than anybody else. All
of you are aware of the flagrant violations of city codes
and standards -- which are punishable as criminal offenses.
By refusing to take action, we feel that the city of Orono
is party to this individual's behavior, and we find this to
be unacceptable government.
By presenting this letter in person at the Orono City Council
meeting of August 11, we are now certain that our city council
representatives and officials know about this situation.
We can no longer tolerate a lack of action and we demand that
condemnation proceedings be started immediately for the property
located at 3536 Lyric Avenue.
Dali Wiederhoft Terry Wiederhoft
Orono Resident Orono Resident
