TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS <br />F.pll I PMi;NT RENTAL <br />DEFINITI0r1: The purpose of these specifications is to take <br />competitive bids for the rental of construction equipment by the City <br />of Orono. The successful bidder must ::urnish experienced operators, <br />all necessary fuel, oil, grease, maiw-enance and repairs and <br />transportation to the site designated by the City. The equipment must <br />be in good operating condition. No estimate of the number of hours <br />rental for each piece of equipment is available. The City does not <br />guarantee any minimum of hours other than a minimum of four hours for <br />any separate call. <br />INDEM14ITY: The contractor shall indemnify and save harmless the City <br />and the Engineer from and against all losses and all claims, demands, <br />payments, suits, actions, recoveries and judgements of every nature <br />and description brought or recovered against him b, reason of any act or <br />omission of the said contractor, his agents or employees, in the <br />execution of the work or in the guarding of it. <br />The contractor shall maintain and pay for such ins+eance as will <br />protect the City and the Engineer from liability under this contract. <br />If requested, the contractor shall file a certificate of Insurance <br />with the City. The insurance shall be in the following minimum <br />amounts: <br />Contractor's Public Liability Insurance $100,000 - $300,000 <br />Property Damage Insurance $130,000 <br />WORKMAN IS COMPENSATION: The successful bidders are to be considered as <br />TTnT, pent e`t t contractors and not employees of the City by virtue of this <br />contract_. The contractor will be required to prove to the <br />satisfaction of the City that he pays workman's compensation on zany <br />employees engaged in this contract. <br />EQUIPMENT INSPECTION: The bidder shall provide access to <br />representatives o? the City for the purpose of inspecting the <br />equipment prior to the award and during the term of the contract. <br />TERMINATION OF CONTRACT: It is the intention of these specifications <br />to-ontractror services until December 31, 1986 or until such later <br />date as may he mutually agreed upon. However, i f the contractor fails <br />to perform the work when ordered, or if the wo-k is unsatisfactory, the <br />City may pla=-e the work order with another bidder. <br />
