211. POLITICAL ACTIVITT <br />1. Any employee subject to these rules who desires to file for <br />an elective office of the City shall take a leave of abeence when <br />the employee formally announces candidacy or files, which ever <br />occurs first. Such leave shall terminate upon withdrawal or <br />Jefeat in the campaign. If elected and sworn -in the person is <br />automatically terminatel from their position unless such a <br />position is part-time or temporary, averages less than If hours <br />per week, does not create a conflict of interest ani has approval <br />of the City Council. <br />2. Employees are prohibited from actively campaigning for or <br />against any candidate seeking an elective public office of the <br />City. <br />215. EMPLOYMENT Or RELATED PERSONS <br />Employment with the City including volunteer work is ba3-j on <br />merit principles. Therefore, the employment or volunteer servicr <br />of related persons (spouses, parents, children, brothers and <br />sisters) shall not be approved except by the City Administrator <br />and City Council.
