299. DISCIPLINARY ACTICII <br />1. The method of and procedures for disciplinary action shall ie <br />dotesfined by the City Administrator, subject to approval by the <br />City Counci: if the action involves suspension or termination. <br />2. Employees may be disciplined in the form of: <br />A. oral reprimand <br />b. Written reprincid <br />C. Suspensions with or wiLlout pay <br />d. Demotion <br />P. Transt•�r <br />f. Discharge <br />3. In all cases of transfer, demotion, or dismissal, <br />the yeas --is for such action mus.. be presented in a dated, written <br />statement to the employee ct'_ected as eron as practicable after <br />the action has taken place. <br />1. An employee may request a meetinq with the City Administrator <br />to discuss any disciplinary action taken against tte employee. <br />.he employee must submit the request in writing and stare the <br />grounds for the request. The City Adstinistratoc shall meet wit❑ <br />the employe* within ten (18) days of receipt of the written <br />request. <br />S. Cause for disciplinary action including reprimand, <br />suspension, demotion or dismissal shall include but not be limited <br />to any of the following: <br />a. Incompetency, inefficiency or neglignece in the <br />performance of duty. <br />b. Insubordination, including, but not limited to, refusal <br />to obey an order which a superior is entitled to give and <br />have obeyed, or refusal to do assigned work which the <br />employee is capable of doing. <br />Public statements which are slanderous or libelous. <br />d. Tardiness after written warning. <br />e. Unauthorized absence or abuse of leaving privileges. <br />f. Being under the influence of intoz�cating liquor, a <br />controlled substance not prescribed by a physician or <br />other substances adversly eftecting employee performance <br />while on duty. <br />g. use of offensive conduct or language tc.ward the public, <br />City officials or employees. <br />h. Conviction of a criminal ..ffense of misdemeanor involving <br />moral turpitude. <br />SF: :Ii!N XIT DISCIPLINARY ACMOMS. <br />Any employee in the service of the City may <br />be disciplined for cause. The method of and procedures <br />for disciplinary action shall be determined by the <br />City Council. <br />Sec. 12.A. Re rI" nd. Demotion. An employee may La derketed by tie <br />City Councl for inefficient perfc:rmarce of his <br />duty, for disciplinary reas^�ns, r.r f.-r ga-A sad <br />sufficient reasons. <br />Sec. 12.n. Dismissal. Officers ar.d roployees sub;ect <br />to the Provisions of this resolution may be rerar;ved <br />from City employment by the City Council for cause. <br />I± Dismissal for cause shall be grounds fcr denial of <br />�{ the employee's terminal benefits incladirq accumalated <br />vacation leave, sick leave or other severance pay. <br />Sec. 12.E.
