i (8) Losses and expenses, not compensated by insurance or otherwise <br />sustained by the Contractor in connection with the changed work pro- <br />vided they have resulted from causes other than the sole or joint <br />fault or neglect of the Contractor, any Subcontractor, anyone directly <br />or indirectly employed by any of them, or for whose acts any of them <br />may be liable. Such losses shall include settlements made with the <br />written consent and approval of the Owner. No such losses and ex- <br />penses shall be included in the cost of the changed work for the pur- <br />pose of determining the Contractor's fees thereon. If, however, such <br />loss requires reconstruction and the Contractor is placed in charge <br />thereof, he shall be paid for his services an additional fee computed <br />in proportion to the sum stated above for the original changed work. <br />W <br />(9) Cost of "drayage," exclusive of any drayage between shop and job - <br />site, only when Contractor must hire an independent trucking firm and <br />driver to perform special drayage services in performance of the <br />changed work for which Contractor's skills, manpower and vehicles are <br />inadequate. "Drayage" does not include transportation performed or <br />which could have been performed by Contractor's drivers or vehicles <br />but for their use on another project. <br />(10) Costs incurred due to an emergency arising out of the changed <br />work affecting the safety of persons and property. <br />(11) Other costs incurred in the performan— of the changed work if <br />and to the extent approved in advance in writ. ng by the Owner. <br />1>� (12) Cost of subcontractors in performing the Contractor's work as <br />changed shall be computed in accordance with this paragraph 11.3.3, <br />is computed in accordance with clauses 11.3.1, .2, or .3. <br />r# <br />b.
