Orono Council Memo
June 20, 1985
Page 3
1. Publication cost $ 15.00
2. Clerical/Resolution/Memo 30.00
3. Filing fee (not actual 30.00 (usually mor,: but if
cost of filing but routine should be no
merely minimum legal fee more.)
for clerical and messenger).
b) Adherence to present fee schedule for accessory uses.
D. Non rental use of available slips at legal residential dock?
There is nothing it our code or the LMCD code that prohibits this use.
We have begun to get questioned on this.
1. Absent authority in the code, we would ask merely that owner of
legal dock confirms in writing that he receives no form of formal
enumeration from use of slip by other party not residing on property.
Do rnn concur?
2. Does Council wish to amend the code to prohibit such activity?
(Rental of slips is prohibited as it would be comercial uses in
residential zone.)
E. Use of a temporary second residential unit on a single lot.
Ordinance prohibits 1) 2 residential units on one lot, 2) prohibits
the use of cellars, trailers etc. as temporary dwellings, and 3 ) mobile
house/trailer for more than 72 hours.
1) Council has granted a permit/license to a church each summer for
the temporary parking of a trailer house for a 2 week period. There
is nothing in our ordinances that discusses permits or licenses for
such use. If you with to continue, the license section of the code
will need to be amended anc: appropriate standards drafted to control
the temporary parking of house trailers/moblie homes for over a 72
hour period.
2) The City has in the past allowed an existing residence on a lot to
be used while a new residence is being constructed provided the owner
agrees in writing to remove older residence prier to final inspection
by building inspector of new residence. It was allowed during the
review of the Kauffmann application on Ethel Avenue.
a) Do you want to review them as variances?
b) Do you want to amend the code to allow the use of existing
residences during construction period for new residence?
