T. Mark Bernhardson, City Administrator
FROM: John R. Gerhardson, Public Works Coordinate,. "Y 1' 19'
DATE: May 10, 1985 C Of ORONO
SUBJECT: Expansion of 44 T Orono Golfcourse
For several years we have been experiencing problems with 44 T at the
Orono Golf course. The problem we are faced with is that the T is very
small and is impossible to maintain adequate turf. The T is adjacent
to Orono Orchard Road and receives rainwater runoff causing erosion
due to heavy rains.
In order to eliminate the above problems, the T should be expanded to
three times its present size. I have beer advised that there will be in
excess of 5,000 cubic yards of earth material available from the
upcoming Crystal Bay Sewer Project.
Therefore, I recommend stockpiling approximately 3,000 cubic yards of
the material from the sewer project for expansion of 44 T. We would
plan on expanding the T in two stages. The first stage would be
completed in the fall of 1985 with the second stage in the fall of 1986.
