Assistance soon arrived on the scene, Mound, DNR agent Conrad,
Hennepin County K-9 unit, Minnetonka 9-9 unit, Wavzata K-9 unit,
as well as Highway Patrol, Hennepin County Crimp Lab and detectives.
The Minnetonka K-9 unit, Officer Craig, took the trail of suspect
number 2 and with aid of Officer Sgt. Christianson, found 42
at the tree.line north of Art Center.
The prompt reporting, excellent crime in progress call, the
cooperation and teamwork of two well trained Orono officers,
brought this incident to a successful close without a
shot fired or anyone injured. This is professionalism at
work. The cooperation among police departments also
deserves to be recognized. I wanted the Councils aware of
this fine example of their police at work.
The two men were charged with three counts of armed robbery
with federal firearms charges still pending.
