Characteristics of this area include: <br />o Mowed lawns under large canopy trees <br />o Shrub massings for color and texture <br />o Blankets of ea►•ly blooming or shade tolerant flowers <br />in the lawn <br />o Crisp edges <br />o Paths and benches as architectural features <br />Natural Area: The visitor experience from the manicured <br />grounds then proceeds to the natural area at the edge of the <br />Estate. Characteristics include: <br />o Recreated forms of natural plant communities requiring <br />low maintenance <br />o Paths and observatio,i platforms allowing viewing of the <br />Estate and Lake <br />An added benefit of this area of the site would be to provide <br />a vegetative and visual buffer from the Lake channel and road <br />that it borders. <br />f. Evergreen Buffer: Consistent with Mrs. Hoppe's will the area <br />east of the parking lot to the boundary of the park ►rill be <br />planted with evergreens to buffer the neighbor to the east. <br />The mass of plantings will also include other plant materials <br />to add color and texture of interest. <br />
