r <br />rother public or private entities, the Contractor shall secure written permis- <br />sion from the proper authority to cross said highway, railroad, street or <br />utility before further prosecuting the Work. A copy of the written document <br />granting permission shall be filed with the Owner and Engineer before any Work <br />is done. The Contractor shall be required to obtain a written release from <br />so the applicable authority upon completion of the Work. A copy of this written <br />release shall be filed with the Owner and Engineer before final acceptance of <br />the Work is granted. <br />8.8 SANITARY PROVISIONS <br />The Contractor shall provide and maintain such sanitary facilities for the use <br />of his employees and those of his Subcontractors as may be necessary to comply <br />with the laws, rules or regulations of the Federal, State and local <br />governments, or agencies or departments thereof. <br />E� 8.9 PRESERVATION OF HISTORICAL OBJECTS <br />8.9.1 Where historical objects of potential archeological or <br />E+ paleontological nature are discovered within the areas on which the <br />Contractor's operations are in progress, the -Contractor shall restrict or <br />suspend his operations in the immediate area of the discovery as may be <br />necessary to preserve the discovered objects until the Owner has made <br />/p arrangments for their disposition or has recorded the desired data <br />E' relative thereto. <br />8.9.2 The Contractor shall immediately notify the Owner of any historical <br />objects he may discover cr become aware of as the Work is being <br />prosecuted, and shall aid in the preservation and salvage program decided <br />upon, as may be requested or ordered by the Owner. No Work which the <br />Contractor considers to he Extrp Work shall be per`ormed without the <br />written authorization of the Owner. <br />8.9.3 The Owner shall have the right to restrict or suspend the <br />Contractor's operations in the immediate area where historical objects are <br />discovered for a period not to exceed 72 hours, without :_Haim being made <br />by the Contractor for any damages he might suffer as a result thereof. <br />Any restrictions imposed shall not remain in effect for a period exceeding <br />72 hours unless mutually agreed to in wviting. <br />8.10 USE OF PREMISES <br />Contractor shall confine construction equipment, the storage of materials and <br />equipment and the operations of workmen to areas permitted by law, ordinances, <br />a permits or the requirements of the Contract Delcuments, and shall not <br />unreasonably encumber the premises with ,.instruction equipment or other <br />materials or equipment. <br />11) <br />352ha <br />4/81 <br />L:.: <br />
