SECTION 9 <br />PROGRESS AND COMPLETION OF WORK <br />9.1 NOTICE TO PROCEED <br />The date of commencement of the Work is the date set forth in the Notice to <br />Proceed. If there is no Notice to Proceed, commencement shall be the date of <br />the Contract or such other date as may be established therein. Thereupon, the <br />Contractor shall begin and shall prosecute the Work regularly and without in- <br />terruption, unless otherwise directed in writing by the Owner, with such man- <br />power and equipment as is necessary to complete the Work within the time <br />stated in the Contract Documents. <br />9.2 CONTRACT TIME <br />The Contractor shall complete, in an acceptable manner, All of the Work con- <br />tracted for in the time stated in the Contract Documents, subject only to ex- <br />tension for unforeseeable delays above and beyond the control of the Contrac- <br />tor and his Subcontractors and withotit their fault or negligence. Notice of <br />the Contractor claim for such extension shall he given within 15 dayb of the <br />occurrence of the event giving rise to the claim; otherwise the claim shall be <br />waived. <br />9.3 SCHEDULE OF COMPLETION <br />The Contractor shall submit, at such time as may reasonably be requested by <br />the Engineer, schedules which shall show the order in which the Contractor <br />proposes to carry on the Work, with dates at which the Contractor will start <br />the several parts of the Work and estimated dates of completion of the several <br />parts. <br />9.4 USE OF COMPLETED PORTIONS <br />The Owner shall have the right to take possession of and use any crmpleted or <br />partially completed portions of the Work, notwithstanding that the time for <br />completing the entire Work or such portions may not have expired. The Owner <br />will seek to minimize the delay to the Contractor• occasioned bv_ the Owner's <br />occupancy before Acceptance. <br />9.5 COMPUTATION OF TIME <br />When any period of time is referred to in the Contract Documents by days, it <br />shall be computed to exclude the first and include the last day of such peri- <br />od. If the last day of any such period falls on a Saturday or Sunday or on a <br />day made a legal holiday by the law of the applicable jurisdiction, such day <br />shall he omitted from the computation. <br />?iySa <br />4/N j <br />
