Wiring for the motor and sensors shall. he included in the power cable to each <br />pump. Each sensor shall have individual conductors to provide a separate <br />alarm for each type of failure. The control panel shall have circuitry tc <br />effect alarm and shut down functions from the moisture and thermal sensors in <br />each unit. <br />35,100.7. LEVEL, SWITCHES. Pump chamber liquid level switches, 24 volt DC. <br />shall be provided in the number and for the function shown on the plans. Each <br />switch shall consist of a conical top and a hemispherical bottom covered with <br />a chemical resistant neoprene rubber, or polypropylene, enclosing an eccen- <br />trically fitted lead weight to keep the switch in the correct attir.ude, and <br />shockproof mercury switch. The top of each switch shall be fitted with an <br />integral protective hoot to prevent cable fatigue. Cable shall be three <br />stranded conductors, heavily sheathed in PVC for resistance to immersion, cor- <br />rosion and abrasion. Switches shall be permanently marked to indicate switch <br />funtion, normally closed or open. Switch cables shall. be sufficiently long to <br />connect directly to the control panel. <br />Float switches shall be attached to a galvanized chain with weight to prevent <br />entanglement and ease of removal from the pump chamber. Cable fasteners shall <br />be stainless steel with rubber sleeve to prevent fatigue of float cables. <br />15,100.8. ELECTRICAL: Electrical power will be supplied by Northern States <br />Power Co, at 230 -.olt, 3 ph from their pole mo+nted, open delta, transformer <br />bank. The contractor shall construct the secondary service conduit Rad wiring <br />from the control panel, up the transformer pole and terminating in a <br />weatherhead for connection by the power company. Secondary service conduit <br />shall he hot dipped galvanized, rigid steel conduit. The contractor shall <br />install the electric service to conform with the rules of the utility and <br />applicable electric codes and standards. The contractor shall he responsible <br />for all coordination of work with the utility with regard to the service <br />connection and pay all fees and charges submitted by the itility for their <br />part of the service installations and connections. The contractor shall <br />install all conduit, wiring, ¢rounding, meters, panels, electrical devices, <br />etc., not installed by the power company and required for a complete service. <br />Anv item furnished but not installed by the utility shall he installed by the <br />contractor. <br />The contractor shall install all <br />conduit and wiring <br />from the control ,.&nel to <br />the pump chamber in accordance <br />with applicable National, Scat(., <br />and Local <br />Electrical Codos.
