2341. PLANT -MIXED BITUMINOUS SURFACE <br />N <br />General Requirements <br />16 2341.0. SPECIFICATION REFERENCE: Section 2341 of the Minnesota Department of <br />Transportations, "Standard Specifications for Highway Construction," 1983 Edi- <br />tion and all amendments thereto shall apply except as modified or altered in <br />the following General Requirements. <br />2141.1. DESCRIPTION: This work shall consist of the construction of a plant - <br />mixed bituminous surface, on a prepared bbse in accordance with M.H.D. Speci- <br />fication 2341 or as modified herein. <br />2341.2. MATERIALS: <br />234,.2.1. Aggregate: Aggregate sha �t the quality requirements of M.H.D. <br />Specification 3139 for B.A. -1 Aggreg. <br />2141.2.2. Bituminous Materials for Mixture: Bituminous materials for mixture <br />shall conform to M.H.D. Specification 1-IT-1—for Asphalt Cement AC-1, 85/100 or <br />120/150 penetration. <br />2341.3. CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS: <br />2341.3.1. Field Laboratory: It is not required that the Contractor furnish a <br />field laboratory at the plant site. All tests required shall be paid for by <br />the Owne The Contractor is responsible for notification of the Engineer as <br />to pit ._ ation, bituminous supply, scale location and :any other correlated <br />items two weeks in advance of starting time so thFt adequate control measures <br />can he established. <br />2341..3.2. Bituminous Pavers: Pavers used on the project shall be equipped <br />with an automatic screed control. <br />2141.3.3. Treatment of the Surface: If so indicated in the plans or directed <br />by the Engineer a prime coat shall be applied in accordance with Specification <br />2358. A bituminous tack coat shall be applied to existing bituminous and con- <br />crete surfa^ps and as directed by the Fng,neer in accordance with Specifica- <br />tion ?357. <br />2141.1.4.
