SPFCIF1CATIO_N_ REFERENCE: Unless otherwise modified or altered herein <br />all sections of the General Requirements shall apply. <br />... 2341.1. DFSCRIPTION: This work shall consist of the construction of a plant <br />mixed hinder and wearing course on :4treets, and driveways in the project <br />area. The bituminous hinder course shrill he 1� inches and the bituminous wear <br />course shall he 1� inches as shown on the typical section. <br />r <br />7341.3. CONSTRUCTION RE UTREME_N_TS: The contractor shall saw cut or jack <br />hammer a square edge at all locations where the new mat will natch the <br />existing bituminous surface. The sgtaring up of the existing surface and <br />removal of material shall he incidental to the bituminous pavement <br />construction. The wearing course shall he placed in 1986. The contractor <br />w will be required to place a leveling course as directed by the Engineer prior <br />to placing the wearing course. <br />is <br />The bituminous wearing course shall he compacted to a minimum density of 97 <br />percent of the standard Marshal density. The bituminous binder course and <br />leveling course shall be compacted to s minimum density of 95 percent of the <br />° standard Marshal density. <br />2341.3.7. Proportioning: The percentage of weight of bitumen is estimated at <br />6.02 for the wear course and S.07 for the hinder and leveling course. <br />2341.1.3. Treatment of Surface: The h tuminous binder course shall receive a <br />tack coat of 0.05 gals. /sq.yd. , prior to placement of the wear course unless <br />otherwise directed by the Engineer. Placement of the tack coat shall be <br />incidental to the bituminous surfacing.
