Project CPS Upper Watershed Storage and Retention Project <br />Painter Creek <br />The Engineer advised the Board that pursuant to <br />advertisement and notice, bids had been received and opened in his <br />office on December 17, 1984. The Engineer distributed the bid <br />tabulation indicating receipt of bids from eight contractors for <br />the CP5 project. The Engineer reviewed the bid tabulation <br />indicating that Crossings, Inc. was the lowest bidder for the <br />work. The Engineer indicated that he had investigated the work <br />previously performed by Crossings, Inc. for other governmental <br />agencies and had concluded that Crossings, Inc. was a responsible <br />bidder. Accordingly, the Engineer recommended that the Board <br />award a contract to Crossings, Inc. as the lowest responsible <br />bidder in the amount of $189,720. It was mo•.ed by Andre, seconded <br />by Carroll that the Board determine Crossings, Inc. to be the <br />lowest responsible bidder and authorize the appropriate officers <br />of the District to sign all contract documents necessary to enter <br />into a contract with Crossings, Inc. for construction of project <br />CP5 as set forth in the Plans and Specifications. Upon vote the <br />motion carried. <br />CPS U. S. Highway loo and Minnehaha Creek <br />The Engineer reported that a Notice to Proceed had been <br />issued to the Contractor on December 20, 1984 in accordance with <br />the Amendment to Agreement between the District and Julian M. <br />Johnson Construction Co. <br />1984 Water Maintenance and Repair Fund Project Status <br />The Engineer distributed a memorandum dated December 6, 1984 <br />indicating the status of the three projets approved by the Board <br />for 1984 fundi-g. The Engineer noted that the recomnendatic s of <br />the Engineer had already been made in connection with the <br />presentation of the Treasurer's report. The memorandum also <br />identified potential projects to be considered for 1985 funding. <br />Control Structure/Lake Level <br />The Engineer reported the control structure had been fully <br />winterized and that as of December 18, 1984 the lake level was at <br />928.82. <br />City of Minneapolis Hydraulic Study <br />The Board discussed the status of requests for payment to <br />the City of Minneapolis of the remaining sums due under the <br />agreement between the District and the City for the hydraulic <br />study of Minnehaha Creek. Manager Carroll reported that he had <br />had preliminary discussions regarding this matter and would follow <br />up on those discussions prior to the next regular Board meeting. <br />-6- <br />
