D. Dual Field <br />1. Dual field systems shall be sized, designed, and <br />constructed as set forth above for standard systems <br />excpet as follows: <br />r' • <br />(a) The soil treatment area shall be divided into two <br />or more parts. This may be done by having: <br />(1) Two or more sets of trenches, or <br />(2) Two or more beds at least ten feet apart, <br />each having 1/2 the total area, or <br />(3) One bed, divided into two, or more parts by a <br />vertical barrier, parallel to the direction <br />of the distribution pipes. The barrier shall <br />extend from the bottom of the excavation up <br />to the level of the.tops of the disposal <br />pipes.' The barrier shall be constructed of <br />clay soil, concrete blocks laid=with mortar,• <br />.fiberglass, approved'plastic or other approved <br />impermeable materials. <br />(b) Alternating soil .treatment areas shall be connected <br />to a valve box outlet, with design and construction <br />being the same as a distribution box. , <br />.1 <br />
