0 <br />6. Where the soil treatment area is at a higher -elevation <br />than the pump, sufficient dynamic head shall be provided <br />for both the elevation difference and friction loss. <br />7. Where the dosing device is a pump, an alarm device shall <br />be installed to warn of pump failure. For dwellings, <br />there. -should be reserve- storage volume equal to one <br />day's sewage flow based on the amounts specified for <br />number of bedrooms at 150 gallons per bedroom per <br />day. For other establishments, reserve' capacity <br />should be based on the nature of the facility, but in <br />no case shall it be less than 25 percent of the daily <br />sewage flow. <br />C. Dosing Devices For Pressure Distribution . <br />1. The dosing device shall be a pump which is cast iron <br />or bronze fitted and with stainless'steel screws or <br />constructed of sound, durable and corrosion -resistant <br />materials. <br />2. The pump discharge capacity shall be at least 30 gallons <br />'per minute for a three-bedroom or smaller dwelling. and <br />an additional ten gallons per minute for each bedroom <br />above three. For otherestablishments, the pump dis- <br />charge shall be ten gpm for each 200 gallons per day of <br />-sewage flow or 30 gallons per minute, whichever is <br />greater. <br />3. The pump discharge head shall be at least five feet <br />greater than the head required to overcome pipe <br />friction losses and the'elevation difference between <br />-the pump and the distribution device. <br />4.• The quantity of effluent delivered for each pump cycle <br />shall be equal to 25 'percent of one day's sewage flow <br />or 200 gallons, -whichever is greater. <br />5. An alarm device shall be installed to warn of pump <br />failure. For dwellings there should be reserve storage <br />volume equal to one days sewage flow based on the amounts <br />specified for number of bedrooms at 150 gallons per <br />bedroom per day.: For other establishments, reserve <br />capacity should be based on the nature of the facility, <br />but in no case shall it be less than 25 percent of the <br />daily sewage flow. <br />-35 <br />
