03300.4.4. Concrete Admixtures: All concrete shall contain a water reducing <br />admixture and shall be air entrained. Air entraining admixtures shall conform <br />to ASTM C260. Water reducing a.mixtures shall conform to ASTM C494, Type A. <br />03300.4.5. Expansion Material: Preformed expansion joint shall. be bituminous <br />fiber type conforming to ASTM D1751. <br />03300.4.6. Floor Sealer. Contractor shall furnish and apply two (2) rolled <br />on coats of Tri-Kote 26 clear, manufactured by TK Products, Inc., or an <br />approved equal. First coat shall go on as soon as concrete sets hard enough <br />to walk on. Second coat shall be placed, after careful cleaning of the j <br />surface, just before the project is turned over to the Owner. Both coats <br />shall be carefully and evenly rolled on. Apply floor sealer in strict -, <br />accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and as approved by the Engineer. <br />03300.4.7. Batching, Mixing, and Delivery Equipment: Use of transit -mixed <br />concrete from approved batching and mixing plant is recommended. Batch, mix, <br />and transport concrete to site in accordance with provisions of ASTM C94. <br />03300.5. PROPORTIONING: All concrete shall meet the following minimum re- <br />quirements: <br />Minimum compressive strength at 28 days 3500 psi <br />Maximum water -cement ratio by weight .45 <br />Maximum slump 3 inches <br />Entrained air content 4�% + 1�% <br />03300.6. CONCRETE PLACEMENT: Place concrete in comnliance with practices and <br />recommendations of AST 304 and as herein specified. <br />Deposit concrete continuously or in layers of such thickness that no concrete <br />will be placed on concrete which has hardened sufficiently to cause the forma- <br />tion of seams or planes of weakness within the section. Perform concrete <br />placing at such a rate that concrete which is being integrated with fresh con- <br />crete is still plastic. Deposit concrete as nearly as practicable in its fin- <br />al location to avoid segregation due to handling and flowing. <br />Do not use concrete which becomes nonplastic and unworkable, or does not meet <br />the required quality control limits, or which has been contaminated by foreig❑ <br />materials. Remove rejected concrete from the site and dispose of it in a lo- <br />cation approved by the Engineer. <br />03300.6.1. Placing Concrete Slabs: Deposit and consolidate concrete slabs in <br />a continuous operation.
