03300. CAST -IN -PLACE CONCRETE <br />Specific and General Requirements <br />03300.1. DESCRIPTION: Provide all cast -in -place concrete as required on the <br />plans and specifications. Concrete work covered by this specification <br />includes footings and ramp slab. <br />-. 03300.2. QUALITY ASSURANCE: Comply with all pertinent provisions of the <br />standards listed in this specification. <br />A minimum of two (2) standard 6" x 12" test cylinders shall be taken for each <br />100 cu.yds. or fraction thereof, in any one day. Test specimens in accordance <br />with AFTM C39. Specimens shall be tested at 28 days for acceptance and at 7 <br />days for information. <br />Cardboard cylinder molds shall be provided by the Contractor. The Contractor <br />shall deliver the test cylinders to the testing laboratory and pay for all <br />tests. A copy of the test results shall be furnished to the Engineer as soon <br />as available. <br />03300.3. PRODUCT HANDLING: Store cement in weathertignt buildings, bins, or <br />silos which will exclude moisture and contaminants. Store cement bags in a <br />manner to permit proper inspection and identification. Partially hardened or <br />lumpy cement shall not be used. <br />Store aggregates in a manner to avoid excessive segregation and to prevent <br />contamination with other materials and aggregate. Frozen or partially frozen <br />aggregates shall not be used. <br />Store admixtures to avoid contamination, evaporation, or damage. Liquid <br />admixtures shall be protected from freezing and from temper -cure changes which <br />would adversely affect their characteristics. <br />03300.4. MATERIALS: <br />03300.4.1. Cement: All Portland cement shall conform to the requirements of <br />aw ASTM C150, Type 1. <br />03?00.4.2. Aggregate: Fine aggregate shall consist of clean washed sand <br />conforming to the requirements of ASTM C33. <br />Coarse aggregate shall consist of washed gravel or crushed rock conforming to <br />the requirements of ASTM C33, size 467, Class designation 4S. <br />Provide aggregate from one source of supply only, Provide one brand of cement <br />►� for use on the entire project. <br />1Mi <br />03300.4.3.
