This j_s a fa i.rly steep <br />grade, and normally a reasonable maximum is 7% for a city <br />thoroughfare. However, since this will be serving only a <br />limited nwnber of homes, it would be acceptable to permit <br />this grade at 8%. It should be recognized, however, that <br />it will be a steep hill. <br />The grading at the edge of Stubbs Bay Road calls for a <br />cut of 16' through the hill. While not shown on the plans, <br />the banks on both sides of the approach should be well cut <br />back so as to have a sight distance both ways on Stubbs Bay <br />Road to permit a clear view of traffic before entering the <br />street. It should be a requirement in the approval of this <br />plat that this hill be cut back at the entrance. <br />Other than that the proposed grading and drainage plan <br />appears to be satisfactory.
