A RESOLUTION GRANTING <br />A VARIANrp TO <br />MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.23, SUBDIVISION 6 (B) A -- <br />SECTION 10.22, SUBDIVISION 2 <br />PILE #1314 <br />WHEREAS, Gerald & Candace Rowlette (hereinafter "the applicants") <br />are the owners of the property located at 3775 Bayside Road within the City <br />of Orono (hereinafter "City") and legally described as follows: <br />Exhibit A, attached (hereinafter "the property"); and <br />WHEREAS, the applicants have applied to the City for a variance <br />to Municipal Zoning Code Section 10.23, Sui;a-.vision 6 (B) to permit the <br />construction of a sunroom addition to the existing residence, to be located <br />19' from the street lot line where a 50' stree _ yard setback is normally <br />required, and a variance to Section 10.22, Subdivision 2 to allow <br />additional structural hardcover on the property where a significzrt portion <br />of existing hardcover is in the 0-'5' iakeshore setback zone where no <br />hardcov»r is normally allowed. <br />Minnesota: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br />FINDINGS <br />1 This application was reviewed as Zoning File ##1314. <br />2. The property is located in t s LR-lA Single Family Lakeshore <br />Residential Zoning District. <br />3. The Orono Planning Commission reviewed this application on August <br />1' 19P8 and recommende3 approval of proposed variance based upon <br />t Fillowi_ng findings: <br />A) The proposed sunroom will extend no closer to the street thar <br />the wing walls ank' roof line of the existing house, k.ut will <br />merely fill in an existinc, indentation in the house. <br />B) The area wt- p the sunroom will be constructed is all <br />hardcovered by _._,;orativ, rc,.:k bed with p_a�tic sheeting <br />underneath. <br />C) The proposed sunroom addi.t ion will n-,t have a- y significant <br />effect on the character of the neighborhoor nor will it encroach <br />upon any neighboring views of the lake. <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
