Chapter 25 A. of the Municipal Code of the City <br /> of Orono is amended to read as follows: <br /> 25A.020. Service Charges. Charges shall be made and collected <br /> for tapping and making connections with the city water mains, to <br /> be paid at the time of making application therefor, by a fee in <br /> the amount prescribed by the current city fee schedule. <br /> 25A. 300, Subd. G. Repair of Leaks. In case of failure upon the <br /> part of any consumer or owner to repair any leak occurring upon <br /> her or his service pipes within 24 hours after verbal or written <br /> notice has been given upon the premises, the water shall be shut <br /> off from the same and not be turned on until a sum in the amount <br /> prescribed by the current city fee schedule has been paid. When <br /> the waste of water is great, or when damage is likely to result <br /> . from the leak, the water will be turned off if the repair is not <br /> proceeded with immediately upon the giving of such notice. <br /> 25A.310. Water Meters. Except for extinquishment of fires, or <br /> when authorized y special permit from the City Ac3zninistrator <br /> and for temporary purposes only, no person shall use water from <br /> the water supply system of the city, or permit water to be drawn <br /> from, except the same be metered by passing through a meter <br /> supplied or approved by the city. <br /> No person not authorized by the City Administrator shall <br /> connect, disconnect, take apart or in any manner change, or cause <br /> to be changed, or interfere with any such meter or the action <br /> thereof. <br /> The City Council shall from time to time fix the charge <br /> to be made to the customers for new water meters and original <br /> connection and installments and payment for same shall be made <br /> in advance before delivery for installation. <br /> Whenever any meter shall become obstructed or out of <br /> order, the City shall cause it to be repaired. The cost of such <br /> repair is to be paid out of the water fund unless the meter had <br /> been damaged by freezing or wilfull neglect by someone outside of <br /> the City employ. Upon request of any customer and payment to the <br /> City Administrator of a fee in the amount prescribed by the cur- <br /> rent fee schedule, the City will test such water meter. All <br /> water meters obtained from the City shall remain the property of <br /> the City and be replaced at any time by the City if found to be <br /> worn or defective beyond repair. Such replacement shall be paid <br /> for from the water fund. <br /> Section 6 . Chapter 31 of the Municipal C7�de of the City <br /> of Orono is amended to read as follows: <br /> 31.718.
