52088.3 <br />ORDINANCE NUMBER _, SECOND SERIES <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 9.13, SUED. 14 ADOPTED APRIL <br />1, 1984, AND ENTITLED "FEEDING OF WATERFOWL". <br />The City Council of Orono ordains: <br />Ordinance No. 9.13, Subd. 14 adopted April 1, 1984, and <br />entitled "Feeding of Waterfowl" is amended to read: <br />Subd. 14. Feeding of Wild Waterfowl. <br />A. Statement of Purpose. It has been determined that <br />the presence of large numbers of wild waterfowl on and around <br />ponds and lakes in the City of Orono causes a public health <br />nuisance in and around said ponds and lakes, including the <br />surrounding beaches and properties, which is inimical to the <br />health and general welfare of the public. The purpose of this <br />Article is to prevent such conduct that may attract such wild <br />waterfowl to properties in the City. <br />B. Feeding of Wild Waterfowl Prohibited. No person <br />shall feed, cause to be fed, or provide food for wild waterfowl <br />in the City of Orono, on lands either put licly or privately <br />owned. <br />C. Exceptions. This section does not prohibit <br />the temporary care or feeding of a wounded bird on one's own <br />premises. <br />This ordinance becomes effective from and after its <br />passage and publication on . <br />Passed by the Council this 23rd day of May, 1988. <br />James R.
