Letter to Residents Dated 9/l/87 <br />ISSUE - The Council to determine if they want to undertake the <br />necessary feasibility study for an approximate cost of S3,500.00. <br />The feasibility study would assist in determining if it is <br />appropriate for a storm Newer project to be undertaken in the <br />Highwood Road area. <br />INTRODUCTION_ - At the Council's August 24, 1967 Council meeting <br />Council at staff's request tabled the item until the Septemer 14, <br />1987 Council meeting. Its noted in Attachment A some of the <br />residents in the neighbcr':ood have expressed <br />an interest in a storm w&ter sewer study. (At present the size <br />of the district and number of property owners effected has not <br />been determined.) <br />DISCUSSION - dhile the storm of the millenium brought the issue <br />to a head particularly a,- it relates to Mr. Sauer's property, <br />(annotated on Attachment ,; there is a problem in this area when <br />there is any 3 to 4 inc'n -ain. <br />Intent of the feasibilit< <:tudy is to determine; <br />a.) <br />the <br />extent of <br />',he poblem, <br />b.) <br />the <br />inadequet:- <br />of the current sv_ stem if any, <br />c.) <br />the <br />cost of s.;.:h <br />a project and <br />d.) <br />if <br />the benel'.. <br />-- gamed are worth that cost. <br />At that point it would bo )ropriite that the City decide; <br />a.) if a project 1;- ,ld be undertaken, <br />b.) if so, how t- , project would be financed, <br />c.) whf they the C ' ; , would be willing to participate, <br />d.) if once thre : t- are ' in the people in the area <br />are still intern- in th ect. <br />The City does have recen'. oerien ;th property owners who <br />desire scry ice, but who c'� feel t1 the cost of that sery ice <br />is in direct proportion it benefit as evidenced with the <br />Crystal Bay project.
