MINUTES <br />LAKE MINNETONKA CABLE COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION <br />5:00 P.M. EXCEI,SIOR STUDIO AND COMMUNICATIONS OFFICE <br />TUESDAY, MARCH 15, 198P <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairman Haggerty called the March 15, 1988 meeting to order at <br />5:05 P.M. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present <br />Dennis Haggerty <br />Tom Anderson <br />Jim Olds <br />Losley Hughes -Seamans <br />Dean Johnson <br />Jerry Roehl <br />Others Present <br />Shelly Quaas <br />Holly Hansen <br />Mary Smith <br />Tom Creighton <br />II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Motioq_3.15.88.1: Anderson moved, seconded ..s, to approve <br />the February 16, 1988 minutes as written. Mo. carried unanimously. <br />111. REPORTS <br />A. TREASURER <br />Motion 3.15.88.2.: Just Claims: Olds moved, seconded by Anderson, <br />to approve Just Claims as written on Appendix A. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />B. ADMINISTRATIVE <br />Hansen informed the Commission that Dowden made a channel change they <br />removed PTL and replaced it with ETWN. LMCCC was not informed <br />until after the fact. Hansen talked with Mary Smith of Dowden and <br />explained that LMCCC t-hould be informed as soon as a channel change <br />is made so ques_ , can be answered to the subscribers. <br />The financial au for year ending 1987 has been started. The <br />franchise payment for 1988 should be received by 11,. ch 30. The <br />budget will probably then need to be revised. <br />A bill, backed up by the Cable Industry, was presented to the <br />Minnesota House and Senate during late February. It appears the <br />main intent of the bill is to protect cable operators in over -build <br />situations. MACTA is monitoring the situation and has testified before <br />the House Committee. MACTA is working with representatives from the <br />Cable Industry to clarify some of the language presented in the <br />amendment. <br />Hansen received a purchase agreement for the sale of Dowden to <br />Triax. Hansen feels that Regional Channel 6 should become a priority <br />in the sale and the LMCCC should make it a requirement of the sale. <br />Staff Cutbacks: Administrator Hansen uas informed that sill Strohm <br />has been offered a fill -time job that will last approximately 2 months. <br />During this period, lo, is L,-king approximately 8 hours weekly <br />at the F,xceisior stud i,). Also, Patricia Ward wants to cut her hours <br />back to R hours a week. Han�:an needs a person that will work more <br />hours (110, shc: wants to hire a new secretary. n the m-in time <br />Hansen will also need some help in to studio. Aiministr. or Hansen <br />would like to hire a free-lance videographer to tape some of the <br />Council meetings and help with other projects. Hansen would hirf, <br />this person at $5.50 per hour and stay within the budget. <br />
