Resolution No. /D 99 ' <br /> : Page 45 <br /> Regulations for such� access include the following: <br /> a) "Applications for comr�ercial a�d industrial driveways or <br /> driveways servicing parking lots or garages with five or more <br /> vehicular parking spaces must meet the require:nents of the <br /> Rules and Regulations Establishing Design Specifications for <br /> Driveways along the Hightaay Syste�s of Hennepin County, <br /> Minnesota . " Such regulations utilize national traffic safety <br /> guidelines for the review of highw�ay speed, sight lines , � <br /> expected traffic flow, etc. to strictly control� the location <br /> • and use of all curb cuts. � <br /> b� "Approval of an access permit does not deny the �ounty <br /> Engineer the future right to revise, relocate or close any . <br /> entrance to expedite the movements of vehicular or pedestrian . <br /> , � traffic. The �ounty retains the right to close said entrancefs) <br /> at its discretion, based upon the necessity for traffic r,egulation <br /> and control. " <br /> • c) "Existing driveways are not au�omatically perpetuated. In <br /> the event of a change in land use or a major change in the <br /> traffic pattern of the existing facility, new driveway applications <br /> may be required by the �ounty. " <br /> - d) David Zetterstrom, Assistant Engineering Technician in the <br /> Traffic Engineering Department reviewed the Johnson proposal . <br /> according to standard engineering criteria. His recommendation <br /> was to relocate' the 'entrance into the property onto East Lake <br /> Street if possible, or if the Citp required� access to County Road 84, <br /> to relocate the entrance 150 feet east of the existing location. <br /> See Exhibit BB. <br /> 5.
