Box 66 Crystal Bay, MN 55323 cTJBJECT: PROPOSED FOX BEND DEVELOPMENT PRELIMINARY PLAT NO. 1411 Ladies and Gentlemen: We have reviewed the subject plat which we understand to be the revision of the Flat proposed by Sussex Square Development at the Planning Meeting of last June. Farview Home Owners expressed several objections to that initial proposal. The revises plat fails to address some of those objections. Therefore we are sending you this letter to suggest. how the remaining objections may be removed. 1. ADDITIONAL SURFACE WATER DRAINAGE The revised Plat indicates the existing drainage from Block 2, lots 3,4,5,6 and 7 will either partly or entirely be concentrated into a drain flowing southeasterly out of lot 7, be commingled with the drainage flowing southwesterly from Block 3, lot 4, and then drained under Fox Street into the subsurface and surface drainag- flowing south through Farview into Maxwell Bay. T'-ds is unacceptable to Farview because the peak load now flowing through Farview is the maximum desirable volume and because in the spring and other flood periods, the existing iron -scum and pollutant content of this effluent is undesirable. This latter problem has been reported to the City of Orono and to the State Pollution agency more than once during the last ten years. Samples have already been collected by Orono. To adopt a development plan that will send more surface water with more pollutants through the existing Farview drainage system is not desireable. 2. ADDITIONAL TRAFFIC The revised Plat retains the original planned 4-way intersection at Fox and Farview. We are opposed to increasing the level of traffic through Farview.
