Position Title: <br />Document Date <br />Department: <br />Accountable to: <br />FLSA Status: <br />Nature of Work <br />CITY OF ORONO <br />Administrative Support Assistant <br />January 1, 2016 <br />Police <br />Chief of Police <br />Non-exempt <br />This position supports the Police Department. <br />Supervision Received and Exercised <br />This position reports to the Chief of Police and receives supervision from the Office Manager. <br />This position does not supervise any other position within the City. <br />Examples of Work <br />Essential functions listed below are intended as illustrations of the various types of work that <br />may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them if the <br />work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position. <br />• Ensure complete, timely entry and coding of data into existing RMS. Ensure compliance <br />with legal requirements and policies regarding law enforcement information. <br />• Maintain integrity of police records, databases and information pursuant to federal and <br />state statutes and City of Orono policies. <br />• Develop new and/or streamline existing processes for electronic data storage and <br />retrieval, data analysis and information sharing to support directed patrol efforts and <br />investigations — including development of spreadsheets and databases. <br />• Process and organize professional work product including accurate, timely reports for <br />prosecutors and police. <br />• Ensure that all reports are accurate, approved by a supervisor, coded and distributed <br />appropriately for optimum use and retention of information. <br />• Ensure that all reports that are submitted for prosecution are typed, proofread and <br />approved by a supervisor. <br />• Streamline and implement a process for photo storage, retrieval and dissemination in <br />cooperation with the investigative division. <br />The City of Orono is an Equal Opportunity Employer <br />31 <br />
