LHCD Board 4/26/89 <br />Stro«men reported laboratory tests indicate a herbicide, SONAR, has a <br />selectivity for the weed. The producer has donated thirty quarts to be used in <br />■four select bays on Lake Minnetonka. <br />Reese shoned a proposal for thirty-second <br />Carmichael Lynch, at outside expense reimburseraent c' <br />in the Public Relations Budget approved for E.W.M. r. <br />Hn DNR. LAKE USE, Chair Pillsbury <br />a) The minutes of 4/17/09 were approved as presented. <br />b) Water Patrol report <br />1. Sgt. Chandler reported two more deputies have been added to <br />the Water Patrol giving them four full time deputies. <br />2. The Wayzata Lions have donated 16,500 to the Water Patrol which <br />will be used for water rescue equipment. <br />3. The first 3WI arrest of the year was made April 28. <br />4. The Water Patrol has two new boats. <br />5. Buoys will be all in by May 15. <br />6. The Water Patrol has received a 115,000 grant from the MN DNR <br />for over-time service. That amount will allow seven day a week coverage. <br />7. Charter boat inspection has started <br />8. The court case on the assault of a deputy will begin May 17. <br />One deputy has not been able to return to work. <br />9. The Water Patrol will have the capability to monitor Channel 16 <br />this year, giving them better contact with on-shore activity. <br />The Board directed the Executive Director to send a letter to the <br />Hennepin County Sheriff's Department thanking them for the additional presence <br />on the Lake. <br />c) Temporary multiple dock extension, Minnetonka Boat Works, Wayzata, <br />recommending approval for extension of 9 slips to 230’ utilizing permanent <br />piling construction due t..: deep and turbulent waters for designated time of five <br />years. <br />It was moved by Pillsbury, seconded by Cochran to approve a temporary <br />multiple dock extension for Minnetonka Boat Works, Wayzata, to permit an <br />additional 9 slips to 238', utilizing permanent piling construction, with <br />instruction to the Minnetonka Boat Works that they are to identify the nine <br />docks they will not use and how they will be closed off. <br />- continued
