PLAN REVIEW - 95 SOUTH BROWN ROAD <br />October 2, 1986 <br />Page 5 <br />49. All headers or lintels shall have not less than 2" solid bearing <br />at each end to the floor or bottom plats. Sec. 2517-g-5. <br />50. All stud partitions in the basement that are not covered on at <br />least one side with approved wall coverings shall be braced with 2" <br />thick bridging installed at mid-point of wall, and of the same width <br />as the stud. Sec. 2517-g-7. <br />51. Rafters shall be framed directly opposite each other at the <br />ridge. Ridge board shall be a minimum of 1" in thickness and not less <br />in depth than the cut end of the rafter. (2" larger than rafter) Sec. <br />2517-h-3. <br />52. Purlins may be installed to reduce the space of rafters within <br />the allowable limits and shall be supported by struts to bearing <br />walls. Sec. 2517-h <br />53. All lumber, plywood, etc. shall be identified by the grade mark <br />of an approved agency. Sec. 2505. <br />54. In the one hour occupancy separation between a Group R and M <br />occupancy, the separtion may ie limited to the installation of <br />materials approved for one hour fire resistive construction on the <br />garage side and a self-closing, tight-fitting solid wood door 1 3/8" <br />in thickness will be permitted. Sec. 503-d-4. <br />55. Fire stoppings shall be provided to cut off all concealed draft <br />openings (both vertical and horizontal). Sec. 2516-f. <br />LIFE, SAFETY, AND HEALTH <br />56. Every sleeping room below the fourth floor shall have at least <br />one window or exterior door approved for emergency exit. Windows with <br />a net clear openable area of not less than 5.7 sq. ft. min. net clear <br />opening height 24" width 20", with a max. sill height above the floor <br />of 48" shall be deemed to meet this requirement. Sec. 1204. <br />NOTE: The minimum dimensions do not meet 5.7 sq. ft. <br />57. All habitable rooms shall have natural light provided by window, <br />with an area of not less than 88 of f loor area or min. of 8 sq. frt. <br />Sec 1205. (1/20 of the above shall be openable or a min. of 5 sq. <br />ft.) *Exception. A mechanical ventilation system may be provided <br />which will provide 2 air changes per hour. 1/5 shall be outside air. <br />58. All bathrooms, laundry rooms etc. shall have 1/20 of floor are in <br />glass with a min. of 1 1/2 sq. ft. Sec. 1205. *Exception. A <br />mechanical ventilation system may provided which will provide 5 air <br />changes per hour. <br />
