All stud partitions in the basement that are not covered on at least one side with approved wall coverings shall be braced with 2" thick bridging installed at mid-point of wall, and of the same width as the stud. Sec. 2517-g-7. 51. Rafters shall be framed directly opposite each other at the ridge. Ridge board shall be a minimum of 1" in thickness and not less in depth than the cut end of the rafter. (2" larger than rafter) Sec. 2517-h-3. 52. Purlins may be installed to reduce the space of rafters within the allowable limits and shall be supported by struts to bearing walls. Sec. 2517-h 53.
