Sec. 2517-d-5. 36. Holes borded in joists shall not be within 2" of top or bottom - the diameter of any such hole shall not exceed 1/3 of the depth of the joist. Sec. 2517-d-3. 37. Notches in the top or bottom of joists shall not exceed 1/6 the depth, and shall not be located in the middle 1/3 of the space. Sec. 2517-d-3. 38. Joints in subflooring shall occur over supports. Sec. 2517-e-1. 39. 2"x4" studs shall be used only to frame not more than 2 stories in height. Table 25-R-3, 40. Utility studs shal i support not more than a roof and ceiling load. Sec. 2517-g-1. 41. Studs shall be placed with their wide dimension perpendicular to the wall. Sec. 2517-g-2. 43. Not less than 3 studs shall be installed at every corner of an exterior wall, unless other approval by Building Official. Sec. 2517- g-2. 44. Studs in bearing and exterior walls shall be capped with double plates, installed to provide over -lapping at corners and partitions. Sec. 2517-g-2. 45. End joints in double plats shall be offset a minimum of 48". Sec. 2517-g-2. 46. All exterior walls and main cross partitions shall be effectively and thoroughly braced at each end, and at least every 25 feet in length. Sec. 2517-g-3. 47. Foundation cripple walls shall be framed of studs not less insize t},an the studding above with a minimum length of 14 inches, or shall I , frames of solid blocking. Sec. 2517-g-4. 48. When foundation cripple walls studs exceed 4 feet in height, they shall be framed of studs having the size required for an additional story. Sec. 2517-g-4.
