Lake Use Committee October 15, 1990 <br />Cochran moved, Babcock seconded, to recommend the Board <br />support the DNR Bill and the LMCD ordinance be amended to specify <br />the four types of personal flotation devices. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />3. Deposit Refunds. <br />Babcock moved. B.iorlin seconded, to recommend approval of <br />the following deposit refunds: <br />a) Upper Lake Minnetonka Yacht Club for 1990 race schedule <br />b) Viking Bassmasters of Minnesota for 10-14-90 tournament. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />4. 1991 Gave the Lake Recognition Dinner <br />The committee was unanimous in its recommendation that the <br />1991 Save the Lake Recognition Dinner be held on Thursday, <br />February 14, 1991. at Lord Fletcher’s. The Water Patrol will <br />make recommendation of a deputy to be r*=»cognized. <br />Water Patrol Report. <br />Schilling reported the- have been two watercraft personal <br />in.jury accidents, one in Jennings Bay and one in Priests Bay. <br />Buoy removal will begin 10-16 by Hennepin County. It will take <br />about two weeks to complete. The summer work load is winding <br />down and the water patrol is preparing for the winter season. <br />Rascop requested a report on the prosecution of the DWI <br />citations issued by the DtlR on Lake Minnetonka. He is interested <br />in who is doing the prosecution and the results. <br />6. Management Plan Response - City of Wayr.ata <br />The Executive Director distributed copies of the Uity ot <br />Wayzata response to the Shoreland Protection section of the <br />management plan. All lake communitie.s have been invited to a <br />review meeting set for 5:00 p.m., Tuesday. October 16. Wayzata <br />City Council Chambers. <br />Cochran urged careful reading of the Wayzata response. <br />A copy of the Wayzata response has been sent to David <br />Arndorfer. Cochran suggested a review of the document by a <br />professional planner who would offer third party ob.jective <br />comments and who does not have a conflict with work being done <br />for the Lake cities. <br />Several names were mentioned. The committee consensus was <br />to have the Executive Director investigate acquiring the short­ <br />term services of a land planner. <br />7.
