In preliminary discussions with Minnegasco, the City <br />Administrator had consistently advised the applicant that the use <br />was not compatible on a residential property and urged Minnegasco <br />to relocate within the industrial property on the east side of <br />Old Crystal Bay Road. <br />The applicant filed the application for the Robb property at <br />the filing deadliie tor your September meeting because of timing <br />and the upcoming winter and the need to provide an auxilary <br />backup for emergency gas needs in the winter. The applicant <br />advised that it took six months to obtain a lease from the Robb's <br />and questioned whether they could obtain a lease from an <br />industrial park owner in this limited period of time, A week ago <br />the applicant advised that they were able to obtain a lease from <br />Veda, Inc., the owners of the Van Dale and surrounding <br />properties. The area of the lease hold will consist of a 150' x <br />150' parcel located on Lot, 1, Block 1, Van Dale Addition. <br />Northern portions of this parcel are currently occupied by Miller <br />Enterprises, a legal non-conforming use consisting of a <br />residential unit and multi-commercial uses. <br />In order to implement the review of this application and in <br />consideration of the emergency needs expressed by Minnegasco, the <br />Planning Commisaion will be asked to review and make a <br />recommendation to the Council on the current proposal.
