The City of Orono is an Equal Opportunity Employer <br /> <br />CITY OF ORONO <br /> <br />Position Title: Management Assistant <br />Document Date: July 10, 2017 <br />Department: Administration <br />Accountable to: City Administrator <br />FLSA Status: Non-exempt <br /> <br />Nature of Work <br />This position supports all departments while providing excellent customer service at the front <br />desk of City Hall. <br /> <br />Supervision Received and Exercised <br />This position reports to the City Administrator and does not supervise any other position within <br />the City. The position provides guidance to other clerical personnel. <br />Examples of Work <br />Performs administrative and office support activities for multiple departments, specifically the <br />City Planning/ Building, and Public Works Departments. Duties may include fielding telephone <br />calls, receiving and directing visitors, word processing, creating spreadsheets and presentations, <br />problem solving, and filing. <br /> <br />Essential functions listed below are intended as illustrations of the various types of work that <br />may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them if the <br />work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position. <br /> <br />• Provides and facilitate exceptional customer service through caring, helpful, and <br />professional contacts (in person, phone, e-mail, and in writing). <br />• Demonstrate a willingness to identify, research, and solve problems. <br />• Provides administrative support to City Planning and Public Works departments, <br />including: investigation, problem solving, data entry, word processing, database design <br />and administration, website administration, and reporting. <br />• Provides assistance to public for online services. <br />• Prepares operational reports as directed. <br />• Coordinates specific programs for City departments, including: recycling, organics, and <br />26
