i <br />Action Report: <br />Meeting: <br />LAKE MINNETONKA CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />Lake Use Committee <br />Monday, July 16, 199U, 4:30 p.m, <br />Shorewood City Hall <br />Members Present: Robert Pillsbury, Chair, Minnetonka; JoEllen <br />Hurr, Orono; James Grathwol, Excelsior; Thomas Reese, Mound; <br />Robert Rascop, Shorewood. Also present: Lt. Larry Peterson and <br />Sgt. Wm. Chandler, Sheriff’s Water Patrol; Rachel Thibault, <br />Administrative Technician; Eugene Strommen, Executive Director. <br />The meeting was called to order by Chair Pillsbury at 4:30 p.m. <br />1. Hennepin County Joint and Cooperative Agreement between the <br />Sheriff’s Water Patrol and LMCD <br />The Executive Director presented the Joint and Cooperative <br />Ag eement between thr County of Hennepin and LMCD providing for <br />the annual law enforcement services on Lake Minnetonka. <br />Pillsbury recommended JoEllen Hurr, Bert Foster and Sgt. <br />Chandler to serve as a sub-committee to review the agreement in <br />advance of the January 1, 1991 automatic renewal, requiring a 90- <br />day advance notice of an intention to change the agreement. <br />charter <br />2. Charter Boat New Registrations <br />The Executive Director reported the following new <br />boat registrations have been received and inspected: <br />Elizabeth Ann, Charles E. Gross, Excelsior <br />Holiday Fair, David Witther, Plymouth <br />He also reported Jacks R Wild charter has been advertising <br />for trips on the Lake but has not been registered. In talking to <br />the charter owner, he wa.s not sure he would have any bookings Jhis <br />season. Chandler stated the Water Patrol is aware Jacks R Wild <br />charter has not complied with registration and inspection <br />requirements. <br />3. Water Patrol Report <br />a. Citations - Citations appear to be up over the same <br />period last year, Chandler reported. A computer tally is not <br />available as yet but the Water Patrol has been making weekend to <br />weekend comparisons. <br />b. July 4th Holiday Activity - Six BWIs, twenty-five <br />citations and forty warnings were issued. There <br />warrant arrests. There were two personal injuries. Chandler <br />commended the deputies for their prompt action in handling one ot <br />the personal injuries which required removal of a propeller to <br />free the injured person in cruiser cove, Big island shore <br />rafting area. The injured party is surviving remarkably well.
