Housekeeping pads* four (4) inches thick* of <br />140 pcf dense concrete* shall be furnished for all mechan <br />ical equipnent located on floor slabs. <br />IDENTIFICATION <br />All piping installed under this contract shall be identified <br />every 50 feet* both sides of all or floor penetration and <br />at every change of direction of flow by stenciling black <br />letters on yellow background. Direction of flow shall be <br />indicated by a black arrov; on the yellov; background. Letters <br />shall be a minimum height of 1". <br />After the piping systems have been completed and pressure <br />tested* set all hand valves and control valves in an open <br />position. <br />Fill the systems with clean water and start the system pumps. <br />Using the chemical feeders on the hydronic and chilled water <br />systems* add dosage as recommended by chemical support per <br />gallon of water in system. <br />E. After the cleaner has been added to the systems* continue <br />to run the pumps for a period of four hours. During this <br />period* the pump strainers shall <br />as required to prevent damage to the pumps* but in no case shall inspection and cleaning be done at g <br />be inspected and cleaned <br />s* but in no casi greater than one <br />hour intervals. <br />At the end of the four hour run* drain all systems com- <br />pletly* then flush with clean water for a two hour period <br />discharging dirty water to sewer. Systems shall be flushed <br />forward and reverse flows. <br />Drain systems* remove* clean and replace all strainer screens <br />and fill system with clean water. <br />PIPE SLEEVES <br />Provide sleeves for all pipes that pass through walls* slabs* <br />concrete columns or concrete bridging, provide sleeves whether <br />specifically indicated or not. <br />Provide sleeves passing throuh concrete walls* slabs* beams* <br />bridging* columns* which are 1/2" greater in inside diameter <br />than .external diameter of insulated pie passing through <br />sleeves. Pipe insulation shall be continuous through the <br />sleeves. <br />Fabricate all steel pipe sleeves of new material* cut square* <br />reamed. <br />At sleeves through walls* extend full thickness of wall* <br />cut flush with finished surfaces. <br />15050-6 <br />i <br />1
