In mechanical equipment <br />rooms, sleeves shall extend 4" above the floor, ^ere con <br />cealed, set plastic sleeves through floor flush with floor. <br />oncealed piping is piping in walls, chases and similar loca <br />tions . <br />3.10 <br />A. <br />Pack soace between pipe and all sleeves, leaving 1" depth <br />for plastic caulking. Packing material shall be fire resistant <br />and meet applicable codes. <br />In locating and setting sleeves. Mechanical Contractor is <br />to leave a minimum of 4" between sleeves in rows or clusters. <br />Where the normal spacing of top and bottom reinforcing bars <br />cannot be maintained or the bars are interrupted because <br />of sleeves size or cluster location, provide extra reinforcing <br />bar as specified around the clusters or sleeves as approved <br />by the Engineer. <br />Pipe Embedded in Concrete: Unless otherwise approved by <br />the Engineer pipes (or conduit) embedded in concrete (other <br />tha those merely passing through the concrete) shall not <br />be larger in outside diameter than 1/3 the thickness of ^h® <br />slab, wall, beam, girder or joist in which they are embedded, <br />nor spaced closer than three diameters and located, run and <br />installed so as not to impair the strength of the concrete. <br />Advise the Owner/Engineer of proposed Installations of others <br />which may violate these requirements. <br />FLOOR, WALL AND CEILING PLATES <br />Where uncovered, exposed pipes pass through walls or floors, <br />they shall be fitted with wall or floor plates. Plates shall <br />be at least 1/32" thick and shall be equipped with set screws <br />for locking around pipe. Plates on chromium plated P^P® <br />shall be finished cast brass or steel chromium plated. Plates <br />shall be set tight against wall or floor. Plates on other <br />than chromium plated pipes shall be prime coated. <br />THERMOMETERS <br />Thermometers shall be installed in the following locations: <br />1. All locations as shown on the plans or details. <br />2. Inlet and outlet sides of heating and cooling coils. <br />3. All specified locations on air systems equipment. <br />» <br />PRESSURE GAUGES <br />Gauge shall be installed at the following locations: <br />1. All locations as shown on the plans and details. <br />2. All pump supply and discharge. <br />15050-7
