A Certificate of Performance shall be submitted to the Owner <br />that d:*sinfection procedures and performance has been pro­ <br />vided in accordance with the State Board of Health. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MATERIALS <br />A. Disinfectant <br />1. Free chlorine; liquid, power, tablet or gas. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 STERILIZATION <br />A.Upon completion of cold and hot water piping systems, in­ <br />cluding water service connections, this Contractor shall <br />steri.lize these systems with chlorine before they are placed <br />in operation. Amount of chlorine applied shall be such as <br />to provide a dosage of not less than 50 parts per million. <br />Following a contact period of not less than 24 hours, the <br />chlorinated water shall be flushed from the system with clean <br />water until the residual chlorine content is not greater <br />than 0.2 parts per million. All valves in water lines being <br />sterilized shall be opened and closed several times during <br />the 24 hour period. <br />END OF SECTION <br />15015-1
