LMCD Board of Directors December 6, 1989 <br />Code Anendncnt to Ai^ree with Resolution No. 59 <br />Foster moved. Grathwol seconded, to amend Code <br />Sec.3.09.Subd. 5(b) to agree with Resolution No. 59. permitting <br />applications to be submitted 90 days in advance of the open-water <br />fishing event to avoid the $50 late fee penalty. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />e and f) Correspondence <br />The Board accepted the Committee <br />authorized the following correspondence: <br />recommendation to <br />Letter to Mr. Brodie to respond to his concerns about <br />silt build-up believed from boats passing through the channel <br />near the Areola Bridge. <br />Letter to charter boat operators to use the east-west <br />channel only, except for emergencies, for traffic from the Areola <br />Bridge to Lower Lake North. <br />g) Code Revision - Speed Limit <br />Rascop moved, Foster seconded, to instruct the staff to <br />investigate the need for a possible Code revision to resolve the <br />5 vs 6 mph difference between MM DNR and LMCD regulations. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />h) Deputy Cliff Schmidt, Sheriff’s Water Patrol, <br />no new information to add to tlie report given at the Lake <br />Committee meeting. <br />had <br />Use <br />i) Babcock circulated a Charter Boat Study *b- <br />Committee meeting notice for 4: .'30 p.m. , Wednesday December 20th <br />at the LMCD Office. He submitted an updated charter boat study <br />reflecting comments at the Committee meeting. The study group <br />intends to prepare suggestions before having a meeting with the <br />charter boat operators. <br />The executive director reported he has been contacted by a <br />charter boav operator t’ho was concerned about changes in <br />berthing, as many operators have already made dockage <br />arrangements foi* 1990. The Board indicated any such changes <br />could be delayed from going into jffect until the 1991 boating <br />season. <br />4) ADVISORY COMMITTEE.
