Mabusth, Building S Zoning Administrator January 10, 1991 <br />Subject: Selection of Manager - Sewage Treatment Program <br />After interviewing 7 outstanding applicants for the position <br />of manager of the sewage treatment program, I would recommend that <br />the position be offered to Steven Weckman. Mr. Weckman has been <br />employed as the temporary septic inspector since June 14, 1990. <br />After interviewing with candidates with training in environmental <br />sciences to landscape architecture, Mr. Weckman's specialization in <br />the field of soil science finds him best suited for the position. <br />Steven has also had the benefit of 6*7 months of experience in the <br />septic program. He has completed 900 site inspections of the <br />1,100*** systems within the City. We continue to receive compliments <br />on his ability to communicate with the homeowners in the field. <br />Steven is a self starter and has commenced several projects and <br />studies on his own that have benefitted the program. <br />I <br />Steven is personable and friendly, and from my observations <br />has been easily accepted by his co*workers. He continues to <br />provide a fresh, innovative approach to the space limitations of <br />our facility. <br />If Council approves of the appointment, I would recommend <br />that Mr. Weckman commence this employment on Tuesday, January 15, <br />1991. In earlier discussions, we determined the starting level to <br />be at Level 6, Step 1. Based on the compensation plan's expected <br />performance level chart for 1991, Step 1 is at a hourly rate of <br />$11,814. Weckman as <br />the regular full-time manager of the sewage treatment program to <br />commence this employment on Tuesday, January 15, 1991. The <br />starting position is classified as a Level 6, Step 1, at an hourly <br />rate of $11.8X4. All benefits shall accrue as of the starting <br />date, January 15, 1991.
