AGENDA ITEM <br />Date: July 22, 2024 <br />Title: Promote Firefighters <br />Presenter: James Van Eyll, Fire Chief <br />Section: Consent Agenda <br />Item: 7 <br />Purpose: <br />The purpose of this council action it to approve the promotion of three firefighters to fire officers <br />and one firefighter to fire prevention specialist. <br />2. Background: <br />The Orono City Council approved an organizational chart and job descriptions for the Orono Fire <br />Department at the August 28, 2023 City Council Meeting. The fire officers are given more <br />compensation for their skills, expertise and extra duties. <br />3. Recommended Candidate: <br />Shea Chwialkowski was promoted to Deputy Chief of Training, Tom Flermoen was promoted to <br />Captain, Jason Huber was promoted to Lieutenant and Taylor Andres was promoted to Fire <br />Prevention Specialist effective July 1, 2024. <br />4.
