r <br />!■ <br />j?.- <br />c m cfMINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE <br />OF ORONO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL OISTRICt <br />HELD ON SEPTEMBER 9, 1991 <br />QPpNO ] <br />SEPi 2 5 1991 <br />The rc„ lar meeting of the School Board of Orono Independent School District No. <br />278 was held on Monday, September 9, 1991. <br />Present: David McKown <br />Don Anderson <br />James Franklin <br />John Maresh <br />Peg Swanson <br />Martha Van de Ven <br />Thomas Mich <br />Neal Lawson <br />UPON MOTION by John Maresh, seconded by Jim Franklin, tne consent agenda was <br />approved as follows: <br />-approved the minutes of the August 12, 1991 regular meeting; <br />-approved the appointment of Marcia Behring as a part-time gifted teacher <br />at Orono Primary School for the 1991-92 school year; <br />-approved the appointment of Kathy Grundei as a part-time art teacher at <br />the Orono Primary School for tne 1991-92 school year; <br />-approved the appointment of Jacky Anderson as part-time guidance office <br />receptiooist/clerk at the high school; <br />-approved the appointment of Kelli McKown as an instructional parapro- <br />fessional for the swimming pool area; <br />-approved the appointment of Bette Perl as part-time Community Education <br />receptionist/clerk; <br />-accepted the resignation of Georgia Hawkinson, short hour cook at the <br />middle school, effective August 1, 1991; <br />-accepted the resignation of Susan Anderson, high school custodian, effec­ <br />tive August 15, 1991; <br />-accepted the resignation of Phyllis Simon, paraprofessional at Orono <br />Prima School, effective August 26, 1991; <br />-approved the continued use of the Community Resource Pool for 1991-92, <br />costs to be shared by the Orono Education Fund and Orono Community <br />Education; <br />-approved the Treasurer's Report for June, 1991; <br />-approved the bills as covered by vouchers 070830 through 071229. <br />Motion carried. Board member McKown abstained. <br />Or. Mich reported that the suiwier worker's picnic in August was a success and <br />that he wanted to thank the Board members for their attendance; that he wanted <br />to express appreciation to Sue Sjekloch . Evy Zacher, Neal Lawson, Norma <br />Franklin and the administrators for their work/efforts for the new teacher <br />orientation day on August 23; that the start of the school year was excellent <br />with very few problems that workshop week went well beginning with an excellent <br />presentation by Warren Nelson; that the middle school held an orientation <br />program this August which was well attended; that he wanted to express appre­ <br />ciation to the high school parents who sponsored the street dance for students <br />after the football game last Friday; that he had contacted Doug Erickson
