SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL <br />3:00 P.M., JULY 23, 1991 ^ <P <br />n^ . <br />'%/>Member? present; Mayor Peterson, Counci Imembers J. Diann GoetterriC/ <br />Ed Callahan, Gabriel Jabbour and Mary Butler. Representing city <br />staff were Mc'k Bernhardson, City ;'iministrator and John <br />Gerhardson, Pub c Works Director. <br />POLICE CHIEF INTERVIEWS - The Council interviewed the five <br />finalists for the Polcie Chief's position. <br />After review of the five finalists Goetten moved, Jabbour <br />seconded to offer the position to Steve Sullivan and diected the <br />City Administrator and the consultant Jim Brimeyer of Sathe and <br />Associates to prepare an employment and compensation package <br />within the appropriate guidelines and to present that agreement <br />to the Council on Lugust 12, 1991. All voted aye. Motion <br />passed . <br />DISCIPLINARY ACTION - Callahan moved, Butler seconded to approve <br />the recommendation of the Public Works Director to suspend <br />without pay for one week, Erik Bowman for operating equipment in <br />an unsafe manner. All voted aye. Motion passed. <br />ACTIliG CITY ADMINISTRATOR SPECIFICATIONS - Callahan moved, Butler <br />seconded to approve the job description for the Acting City <br />Administrator position. All voted aye. Motion passed. <br />F.ESOLOTION AMEND CITY ’S COMPENSATION PLAN - Butler moved, <br />Callahan seconded to adopt Resolution #2999 amending the City's <br />compensation plan to allow for an adjustment to the Acting City <br />Administrator's salary from 5% to 15% rate which amounts to <br />$4#533 annually and that this increase is in effect until the new <br />City Administrator recommends an adjustment. All voted aye. <br />Motion passed. <br />RRSOLOTION OP APPRECIATION - MARK BERNHARDSON - Jabbour moved, <br />Callahan seconded to adopt Resolution #2997 a Resolution of <br />Appreciation to Mark Bernhardson, City Administrator. All voted <br />aye. Motion passed. <br />Motion by Peterson, seconded by Butler to adjourn at 8:45 p.m. <br />All voted aye. Motion passed. <br />r <br />Barbara A.
