Position Profile <br />Durins this initial phase our consultants will meet with the Council, as a group and <br />SX, to lea?n more about your goals and objectives We will spend the necessary <br />time to gain a clear understanding of the organization and the type of person needed <br />Critical factors to be determined include position responsibility and aut °tit>, rep *’,* <br />relatioMhips- educational and experience requirements; personal and leadership qualities, <br />management style; and the organizational environment in which the City .Administrator <br />must function. <br />With Council approval, we will also meet with key staff to further assess the ^hmate <br />within which the selected candidate must operate. We would asc propose <br />eommunitv leaders and organizations as identified by the Council. As a result of ,hese <br />meetings we will reach an understanding of what type of personality, human chemistry, <br />and interaction style is desired and we will draft a Position Profile. <br />A areat deal of emphasis is placed on this critical specification analysis stage to <br />determine content and the environment. Without this mformat.on, it .s <br />difficult to determine how potential candidates will affect the City s ■ <br />organizational team. Prior to meeting with the Council. <br />leaden, we will supply a list of questions to assist the interviewees in assembling their <br />ideas on what should be included in this job prc. -le. <br />During the meeting with the Council, agreement will be reached concerning the number <br />of qutSified candidates that will be interviewed before making a final decision. <br />Once a consensus is reached on the requirements of the position and the qualifications of <br />the ideal candidate, we will prepare a detailed Position Profile and an appropriate <br />presentation of the opportunity and present it to the Council for approval. <br />2. Recruit Candidates and Place Announcements <br />throughout the United States. In addition, we will use our research <br />comparable organizations from which key individuals can be contacted.
