Update Regarding Priority Projects and Timelines continued <br />July 9, 1998 <br />Page 3 <br />5. <br />6. <br />Park Dedication Ordinance. <br />A.The park dedication ordinance has been amended to meet current legal requirements. <br />Additional work is necessary to enable the dedication requirement to apply to <br />development that does not involve a subdivision. Staff is collecting information <br />regarding ordinance language in other cities to accomplish this. A revised ordinance <br />will be available for Planning Commission review at the September Planning <br />Commission meeting. <br />Femdale Road. <br />A.The preliminary design concept and funding formula have been agreed upon. <br />Preliminary plans are to be complete by July 20. The edges of the alignment will <br />then be staked for review by the cities. Upon approval of the preliminary layout, <br />final plans and specifications will be completed so that bids can be received in <br />September. The project will be constructed during the 1999 construction season. <br />7. Old Crystal Bay Road Trail. <br />A. Hennepin Parks plans to complete the trail up to County Road 6 and along County <br />Road 6 to Baker Park during this construction season. <br />8. Fire Inspection Services. <br />A. The City has received two proposals for contracted fire inspection services for the <br />Highway 12 commercial/industrial area and the five marinas. Staff will bring a <br />recommendation to the Council at its August 10 meeting. <br />9. Voice/Data Communications Upgrade. <br />A.The needs assessment has been completed. Staff will meet with the consultant to <br />review the results of the needs assessment on July 15, and will begin to develop an <br />RFP for either a new phone system or an upgrade of the current system and for the <br />provision of Internet access. <br />10. Brook Park Realty Suit. <br />A. The law firm of Greene and Espel is defending the City in the lawsuit. The City’s <br />response to the complaint was submitted on July 10.
