r <br />'^Ci <br />V'.' <br />V ■' <br />Hs'fcez’ Structures and Environment Committee January 12. 1991 <br />The file correspondence over the three /eai-s was reviewed. <br />(LMCD’s policy and criteria for April 1, 1907, governing mooring <br />buoys was not available during this discussion.) <br />Foster moved, Cochran seconded, to recommend extending the <br />City of Deephaven’s temporary exemption for power boats on buoys <br />for the 1991 boating season. Motion carried unanimously <br />8. Amendment to Temporary Low Water Variance Application Form <br />Reese moved, Boswinkel seconded, to recommend approval of <br />the changes to the Temporary Low Water Variance application form <br />as recommended by Staff. Motion carried unanimously. <br />9. Refunds <br />to recommend approv.al of theFoster moved, Reese seconded. <br />following refunds: <br />A. Deposit Refunds <br />Minnetonka Boat Works (W) new dock application $100 <br />Minnetonka Boat Works (0) new dock application loO <br />Minnetonka Boat Works (0) density application 100 <br />Bean's Greenwood Marina variance application (denied) <br />100 <br />B. Driftwood Shores refund of overpayment due to <br />staff correction of Watercraft Storage Units <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />20 <br />10. <br />of <br />and <br />Deicing <br />A. Applications for approval <br />Foster moved, Babcock seconded, to recomm. td approval <br />the following deicing permits: Clay Ciiffe, Deni »... ‘‘a* .on. <br />Minnetonka Marina and Yacht Club-under now ownr^rsiiip <br />(formerly Smith Bay Marina). Motion carried unanimously. <br />B. Inspection Report <br />Thibault reported on her inspections of the deicing <br />installations. She cannot determine if the lighting is <br />satisfactory. The Water Patrol will be asked to check it when <br />they do night time patrols. She found one fence tipped and <br />frozen in. Committee advised her to contact the permit holder to <br />have it corrected. She had the unfortunate experience of going <br />through the ice at the Minnetonka Boat Works (0). They will be <br />advised their bubbler is deicing beyond the fencing. The use of <br />"curtains*' to contain the open water around the deicing are.a is <br />recommended. <br />Boswinkel was excused. <br />11. Recreational Monitoring <br />The Executive Director advised that the 1998-1989 <br />Recreational Monitoring for Lake Minnetonka report has been <br />reviewed. Some minor typographical errors and wording c)ian«es <br />have been marked on a copy which is available for member review. <br />riniii ■ '•
