Vacation leave is authorized absence Jrom vark, with pay, <br />granted employees as outlined in 304. The amount of vacation <br />leave Is dependent upon an employee's length of service measured <br />from the last date of hire in accordance with the following <br />schedule, except that new employees shall not begin to use <br />vacation leave until they have been employed six (65 months. <br />0 through 5 years <br />continuous service; <br />6 through 10 years <br />of continuous service; <br />10 days ( hours) <br />15 day- (120 hours) <br />II through 15 years <br />of continuous service; <br />of continuous service; <br />18 days (144 hours) <br />16 years of continuous service;19 days (152 hours) <br />17 years of continuous service;20 davs (160 hours) <br />18 years of continuous service;21 da/s (168 hours) <br />19 years of continuous service;22 days (176 hours) <br />20 years and! over <br />23 days (184 hours) <br />1 <br />■V ■ <br />I <br />2. Vacation leave shall not be earned by any employee during a <br />leave of absence without pay, suspension or time otherwise not <br />worked or paid, or otherwise not compensated, if such absence <br />exceeds ten (10) calendar days in the employee's anniversary year.' <br />3. Administration of Vacation Leave. The following procedures <br />will be followed in administering the vacation policy of the City: <br />a. For the convenience of employees going on vacation ti^e <br />City will, on request, make advance payment of <br />compensation due for the pay periods falling within the <br />vacation period. Such requests should be made at the <br />time the vacation is requested and in no case less than <br />tw< (2) weeks prior to the commencement of the vacation. <br />One week vacation aay shall equal the employee's regular <br />straight time weekly eart ings. <br />b. Accumulated vacation leave cannot be transferred from one <br />•'•nployee to another employee. <br />o. A minimum of ten (10) days vacation must be taken <br />annually and no more than 15 days (120 nours) accrued
