These regulations may be modified by employment contracts <br />between the City and recognized collective bargaining units# to <br />the extent they are specifically altered in contract documents. <br />4. These personnel rules shall be adopted by resolution as <br />specified in Section 2.18 of the City of Orono's Municipal Code <br />and may be fucrher amended by Council resolution. <br />107. DEFINITIONS <br />1. Regular Full-Time Employee: an individual who has <br />successfully completed the required probationary period and who is <br />employed on a schedule that averages at least 40 hours per week <br />per calendar year in a position so funded in the applicable year's <br />budget. <br />2. Regular Part-Time Employee: an individual who has <br />successfully completed the required probationary period and is <br />employed on a schedule of less than 40 hours per week in a <br />position so funded in the applicable year's budget. <br />3. Probationary Employee: an individual who has been assigned to <br />a full-time or part-time position but who has not completed the <br />probationary period of one (1) year for that position. <br />4. Temporary Employee: an individual who has been appointed for <br />either full-time or part-time work on a temporary basis for a <br />period not to exceed six months. <br />5. Benefits: vacations, paid holidays, and such other benefits <br />as are approved by the City Council. <br />6. Fiscal Year: the period of time from January 1 to December <br />31, inclusive. <br />7, Employee: an employee subject to the terms of these personnel <br />rules, unless the context in which the word appears requires a <br />different meaning. <br />8. Exempt: personnel who are in position exempt as provided for <br />in the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act. <br />9. Non-Exempt: personnel who are subject to the provisions of <br />the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act. <br />108. RECORDS POLICY <br />1. The City shall maintain a personnel record for each employee. <br />These records shall be the official personnel records of the City <br />1
